Boggle Word Works (freebies)

My K team purchased these from Oriental Trading.  We have not gotten them yet and I am a little worried after reading the reviews.  I think I will work on finding some Boogle games at garage sales or thrift stores this summer.

Here are some activities I made for word work.

First is a letter sheet.  I am going to have them color in the letter once they find it on the game.  They can see how many tries it took them to find them all.  To differentiate this, I made an uppercase and lowercase sheet.

I also made a word find one.  I do not plan on having specific rules for them (i.e. letters touching, etc.) but just if they see the letters they can use them.

Write Stamp Decorate (freebie)

I saw this idea on Pinterest so I had to make up a version.  The idea is that they would write a word (my kids will do a word off the word wall), stamp it, and then write it and deocrate the word however they want.
**OOPS!  I forgot to add my signature before.  If you downloaded it already please click the picture above and save the new one please!

*On a side note, does anyone know how to embed google docs now?  I can't change it to the older version anymore.  HELP!

Alien or Earth Words (freebie)

This is not a new idea by any means.  I just made up a different sheet to fit my preferences.  I have some foam dice that have blue letters (consonants) and red letters (vowels).  I used to use cubes and make my own however with paint or markers.

Enjoy!

Picture Directions (freebie)

I have some of these that someone made a long time ago using generic graphics.  After seeing the posts here and here, I decided to make some new ones.  I wanted to include the keywords on the cards as well so my students can get used to seeing the words in order to start reading them for themselves.

I also made small sets for my students with special needs who need them right in front of them so they can remove them as they finish each step.

Grocery List and Life Folder Details (freebie)

I had a few people asking about my 'life folder'.  So I thought I would share a bit more.  I'll just throw this out there before I proceed.  I adore monsters.  I love the cute ones for school and the scary ones for movies.  I love the monster clipart found at First Grade Teaching, Kindergarten Works, and Graphics by Ruth.

I simply use a 3-ring binder.  I am going to put this cover inside the plastic front.
Click the picture to download.

Inside I have a pencil pouch with a pencil, pen, post-it notes, scissors, mini stapler, and glue stick.

Next up are my monthly calendars.

Then I have these pocket type tabs.  I could not find the exact ones I have online but these are close.  I like using the ones with pockets for those things I need to keep track of that I can't/don't want to hole punch.

My first tab is 'notes'.  I stick my miscellaneous stuff and post - it notes in this pocket.
Next I have my weekly planner followed by my grocery list and tab for 'home'. I included in the download a blank copy of the grocery list and a copy of the one I use that has our every week items with some pictures for my 3 1/2 year old who is learning to read and loves to be in charge of the grocery list.
Click the picture to download.
Click on either picture to download.

Then I have my weekly planner again followed by a tab for 'school'.

Then I have my Project Planner Sheet with the Step by Step Project sheet behind that with another tab for 'home'.

Click either picture to download the project planner download.

Then I have the Project Planner and Step by Step Project sheet with a tab for 'school'.

In these tab pockets, I keep anything I might need to go along with the projects (receipts, pictures, etc.)

Right now I keep my extra copies in the back but plan to put them in sheet protectors and keep them in the back of the binder.

I hope this makes sense.  If you need the editable versions of anything (publisher) so you can change the categories, let me know.  Everyone is different and I had to create my own because everything I found online was just not quite what I needed.  I have no problems with people tweaking to fit their needs.

Let me know if anything needs clarification!

Lists Galore (freebie)

I've seen a lot of to do lists popping up on blogs lately.  I thought I'd share mine.  I recreated it after seeing the one over at What the Teacher Wants! (you HAVE to check out this blog).  I made it with things that I was likely to need.

Click on the picture above to get my to do list.

Then I also tackled my project list.  I use this with both home and school projects.  I have the master list of projects to complete.  Then I will fill out a more outlined page for each project.  This allows me to work on things one step at a time as I get a minute (and usually not much more than that!) every so often.  My husband can also see where we are on our house projects (like our basement that is gutted out and needs to be refurnished into our master bedroom one day).

Click on either picture above to get these two pages.

Just to show how nerdy I am, here are some pics of my 'life' folder that I keep everything in.

Everyone has one right!  And don't worry these pics were taken before I really wrote on them : )

If you need to adapt any headings and would like them in publisher, just let me know!
